Accused Norristown killer seeks change of venue for trial

NORRISTOWN — A Norristown man, one of three males accused of taking part in the November 2025 gang-related gunshot slaying of a 19-year-old borough man, claims pretrial media publicity was “sensational” and will prevent his lawyer from selecting a fair jury.

Ziyker Evan Washington, 21, of the 1200 block of West Marshall Street, filed papers in Montgomery County Court asking a judge to move his trial to another county or to select a jury from another county.

Washington is scheduled to stand trial on Nov. 2 on charges of first- and second-degree murder, carrying a firearm without a license and possession of a weapon along with his alleged co-defendants, Mark Fields Jr., 18, of Norristown, and Theodore Adams, 17, of Philadelphia, in connection with the alleged 6:08 p.m. Nov. 30, 2025, gunshot slaying of Hamid Myheime Boyd in the 1000 block Powell Street…
