Robin Marie Baker signed a 39-month closed-end lease at Braman Motorcars in West Palm Beach on Feb. 18, 2023, according to the complaint. The payments ran $1,571.83 a month, dipping slightly to $1,564.28 this past February. The lease matured May 18. At that point, Porsche says, Baker had two options: return the vehicle or buy it. She did neither.
Porsche Leasing Ltd., according to the complaint obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, puts the balance due at $54,345.33, while pegging the Macan’s wholesale value at $32,300 in fair condition. In a sworn affidavit attached to the filing, the collections and recovery manager alleges Baker purposely concealed where the vehicle is and aggressively rebuffed every attempt to recover it — and that there is a real risk she sells or transfers it to an unsuspecting buyer. The SUV is still garaged somewhere in Palm Beach County, the company believes.
The four-count complaint seeks replevin, plus damages for conversion, unjust enrichment and breach of contract, along with attorney’s fees and interest. Miami firm Cole, Scott & Kissane filed it on Porsche’s behalf, with attorneys David O. Caballero and Mabel Caballero signing handling the case. The defendant has not yet filed a response.
