Tacos Fita, a growing taco chain recently named one of Portland’s best new food carts, has added a new cart with a fresh menu near its location at The Heist pod in the Woodstock neighborhood, 4727 S.E. Woodstock Blvd.
In contrast to the mesquite-grilled ribeye tacos at the original, the new cart, Fitas Cocina, focuses on seafood, sizzling platters and other dishes unavailable at Tacos Fita, according to owner Rafael Dueñas. The Fitas Cocina menu includes sizzling fajitas, enchiladas verdes, crispy fish tacos, citrus-marinated ceviche and zarandeado-style shrimp.
“Our original cart menu was packed, and our guests kept asking for dishes we just didn’t have the kitchen space to execute properly,” Dueñas said. “Instead of cutting items to make room, we decided to open a second kitchen right here in the pod.”…
