AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Ethel Wright has not been able to live in her home on Sixth Avenue since Hurricane Helene hit on Sept. 27, 2024.
“I grew up running around the neighborhood,” Wright said.
Storm damage forced her out
Wright described the moment a tree fell during the storm. “Then I heard boom, and that was the tree,” she said.
She said a limb from the tree hung over her bed, and water came through the ceiling. “I went to come in, and the sheetrock passed right in front of me, and I said nothing, but God stopped me,” Wright said…
