Record-high diesel prices are putting new pressure on trucking companies and consumers, with economists warning that the rising cost of moving goods could soon lead to even higher prices at grocery stores and elsewhere.
According to GasBuddy, the national average price of diesel reached $5.82 a gallon on Thursday, surpassing the previous record set in 2022. California drivers, however, are paying significantly more.
