DENVER (KDVR) — The Colorado Bureau of Investigation concluded its independent review into the death of 18-year-old Megan Trussell.
ORIGINAL: Police, FBI searching for missing CU Boulder student
The independent review determined that Trussell died by suicide in early 2025. Trussell was a CU-Boulder student when she went missing in February that year. Her body was found in Boulder Canyon a week after she was last seen.
An independent state-level review of the investigation into Trussell’s death was initiated in January after a request by the Trussell family. It was conducted under the authority of SB 22-150.
The review took place over roughly seven months, with examinations of the investigative record, looking into digital evidence, cellular analysis, campus records, body camera footage, searches and forensic files…
