We Heard Youngblood’s Was Closing, So We Asked the Owner

The one thing about Amarillo is that it is home to many great restaurants opened by people who live in this great city. The thing about locally owned restaurants is that residents fall in love with and support these restaurants for years and even decades, and when you hear about the possibility of one of these restaurants closing, it sends sadness through your heart. One small comment and message about Youngblood’s Cafe sent sadness through my heart.

What Started the Closing Rumors

We shared with you not too long ago that Flamingo’s was closing on Amarillo Blvd., and someone made a comment that Youngblood’s Cafe was closing too. WHAT? So I proceeded to DM this person and ask where they got their information.

They told us! Building for sale! The owners are retiring.

So, in my shock because I love Youngblood’s Cafe, I reached out to the restaurant to see if it was true. The question I sent was simple: We had a listener reach out to us saying that Youngblood’s Cafe may be closing, and I wanted to reach out to see if you could confirm whether that is true.”I also asked if it was true and if someone would be purchasing and taking over the restaurant.
