Butcher Boy Taco House is a family owned and operated taco spot in New Braunfels with roots going back to the 1970s, when the building served as a meat market that produced prime cuts and sold tacos on the side. Owner Jeramie Hernandez saw an opportunity to preserve that local staple and turned it into a full restaurant, keeping the spirit of the original business alive for the community.
The menu covers a wide range of morning and midday favorites, starting with breakfast tacos including a bacon egg and cheese Goldie, a chorizo and egg, and a papa ranchera, all made in-house. The super taco is a standout, packed with guisada, salad, beans, and cheese and wrapped in a homemade flour tortilla. Made-to-order pancakes and the huevos rancheros with pork chop round out the plate options. When the weather turns cold, the menudo and barbacoa, washed down with a Big Red, are the go-to combination.
