KAIMUKI, Hawaii (Island News) — A jury found a man guilty of assault and firearm charges in connection to a Kaimuki shooting in April 2024 that left a man critically injured.
Jeremyal Leedy was found guilty on Sept. 2, 2026 of three charges tied to a shooting on the night of April 2, 2024 on the 2700 block of Kaaha Street. The shooting erupted following a fight with his ex-girlfriend outside of her home. The victim, the boyfriend of the ex-girlfriend’s mom at the time, came out swinging with a bat, Leedy told Island News in a previous interview.
Leedy said he pleaded with the man to stop, but he kept hitting him. Leedy heard the man tell a friend to get a gun, and then he picked up a gun that was at the scene. He said he shot the man in the stomach in self defense…
