At WMNF we really put the “community” in “community radio”! On The Vortex, I try to feature artists that, as DJ Spaceship says, is Home Grown. Artists you know, that you can comment on Instagram and they will actually comment back. Artists that you can see multiple times. Artists that understand that not everyone in Florida lives on the beach.
Here in Tampa Bay, we are lucky. We have never been short on Home Grown musical personalities. So much show that we can slice and dice the musical ecosystem any way you like and still have way more music that we can fit in a 3 hour show. So this week we are looking at local music from female artists.
Women can do more than play bass! Florida ladies will be giving us 3 hours of punk, metal, indie rock, Americana, reggae, soul, electronic music, country, pop and more other music than you can shake stick at.
