ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KUSI/FOX 5) — A San Diego County Sheriff’s K-9 named Nike is recovering after being stabbed in the face several times early Saturday morning by a violent suspect in Escondido, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office (SDSO).
According to the report, on Saturday, around midnight, the K-9 unit team was requested by the Escondido Police Department to assist with a burglary in progress at a business near South Orange Street.
The 35-year-old suspect was reportedly wielding a large stick, throwing objects and threatening Escondido Police Officers at the scene, according to authorities. The suspect reportedly refused to comply with multiple dog warning commands.
