HOUSTON – A man in his 20s died early Sunday after stepping out of a moving pickup truck on the Gulf Freeway, according to Houston police.
The incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. on northbound IH-45 near Scarsdale Boulevard. Police said three people were traveling home in the truck after leaving a Whiskey River nightclub. The vehicle was being driven by the woman’s boyfriend, while the woman sat in the front passenger seat and her brother was in the back, police said.
For reasons that remain unclear, the brother began fighting with his sister during the drive, police said. Investigators said he tried to lower a window and leave the truck while it was traveling about 60 mph. The other occupants attempted to keep him inside, but he eventually opened the rear door and stepped out onto the freeway…
