The 22-year-old woman who was allegedly shot by father now identified by authorities

CLEVELAND (WJW) –The 22-year-old woman at the center of what the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department is calling a homicide was identified Sunday.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner confirms the victim’s identity as Kayla Nicole Wells of East Cleveland.

On Sunday, Sept. 6, just after 1 a.m., deputies responded to a call of a woman shot in the 1200 block of 134th Street. According to the Sheriff’s department, preliminary information reveals that a male suspect called the East Cleveland Police Department and said that he shot his daughter.
