Illinois State Police seize over 5,800 pounds of cannabis during traffic stop

LASALLE COUNTY, Ill. (WFRV) – Authorities in Illinois currently have two men in custody after a trooper seized several thousands pounds of marijuana from their vehicle during a traffic stop on Friday morning.

According to a release from the Illinois State Police (ISP), on September 4 around 11:30 a.m., a trooper with ISP’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Bureau conducted a traffic stop on a truck tractor semi-trail (TTST) that was traveling east on I-80 just outside of LaSalle, Illinois.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed multiple pallets of suspected cannabis and cannabis products, weighing a total of approximately 5,858 pounds…
