Thanks to the cold front that brought strong thunderstorms over the weekend, drier air and cooler temperatures are in place to start this week.
After a cloudy start this morning, sunshine will break through into the afternoon. With a light breeze at times, it’ll feel nicer outside compared to the heat of the weekend. Whether you’re hanging out in the Midlands or traveling across the state, it’ll be cooler, with high temperatures in the mid-80s. Although a stray shower or storm is possible in the Midlands throughout the day, most of us will stay dry.
Throughout this week, heat and humidity will slowly build back into the Midlands. Before you know it, high temperatures will return to the 90s.
Later this week, as additional moisture returns, so will chances for showers and thunderstorms. Rain chances pick up Friday and will hang around into the upcoming weekend.
