KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A Morristown mother gave birth in her car on Cumberland Avenue on Saturday after gameday traffic delayed her drive to the hospital.
Jessy Cole was working her shift at a retail store on Kingston Pike when she started feeling unwell around 5 p.m. She clocked out early and headed for Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, a drive that normally takes about 10 minutes.
Traffic slows drive to nearly 45 minutes
With thousands of fans in the area for Tennessee’s season opener, Cole’s drive stretched to nearly 45 minutes. She said she was stuck at one traffic light for five rotations.
