9/11, 25 Years Later: Specials honor lives lost in Twin Tower attacks

Tampa, Fla. (WFLA) — September 11, 2026, is the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attack, the deadliest terror attack on American soil. Nearly 3,000 lives were lost, and the effects of those losses still linger today.

Since then, still more have been living with the fallout, from the thousands of first responders and recovery workers dealing with illnesses due to contact with toxic debris to the friends and families of those that were lost and those that would be lost in the ensuing War on Terror.

In honor and remembrance of all those affected, WFLA’s parent company Nexstar has put together a series of specials looking back on not only the day, but on the legacy that was left behind…
