Woman Sues Southwest for $50,000 After Bag Falls on Her Head During Deplaning… She Blames the Flight Attendants

A woman is suing Southwest Airlines for $50,000 in a personal injury lawsuit after she was struck on the head by a bag that fell out of the overhead bin when another passenger opened it shortly after the plane landed at Chicago Midway Airport.

The incident occurred in September 2024, but the lawsuit was only recently filed in a Cook County court before being transferred to the district court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Annie Jones says she was transiting at Chicago Midway and was in the midst of deplaning her first Southwest Airlines flight when a passenger opened an overhead bin above her head. A piece of luggage fell out of the bin and struck Annie on the top of the head…
