Arkansans share how they spent their Labor Day and what they know of the holiday

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Labor Day’s roots date back to the late 1800s, when workers fought for better conditions. A march took over the streets of New York, and strikes took place nationwide.

In 1894, Labor Day became a federal holiday and, in the century since, it’s become a day for folks across the country to get a day to relax and recharge.
