A birthday gift turned into a $1 million windfall for a Braidwood resident after a lottery ticket given to him at a birthday party matched all six numbers in an Illinois Lotto Million 2 drawing.
The winning ticket was purchased at Gas N Wash, 1951 E. Laraway Road in New Lenox and later gifted to the winner at a birthday celebration, according to a community announcement. The ticket matched the numbers 11-17-22-26-36-45 in the Aug. 8 Lotto Million 2 drawing, earning a $1 million jackpot prize and an additional $2 for matching two numbers on another line.
“My wife planned a party for my big day,” said the winner, who chose to remain anonymous. “One of my friends handed me an envelope with some scratch-offs inside. I never would’ve imagined actually winning.”…
