A public hearing will be held Sept. 9 on College Church’s fourth revised proposal to expand parking at the popular Wheaton church.
College Church’s most recent parking lot proposal was set to have a public hearing on Aug. 11, 2026. To hold a public hearing, where the zoning commission and residents can discuss the project, Wheaton Zoning Ordinance Article 5.8 requires three things: the proposed permit must be published in the Daily Herald, adjacent property owners of the project must be notified of the hearing and there must be signs on the subject property stating the upcoming hearing information.
There were two signs posted on the property before Aug. 11 indicating that there was a hearing scheduled, one of which was officially removed by Public Works after the city deemed that only one was needed for the project…
