Authorities rescue passenger stuck in car after crash on John’s Island

JOHN’S ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – The St. John’s Fire District responded to a significant vehicle collision on Main Road on Sunday morning.

Both St. John’s and Charleston Fire Departments worked for over 30 minutes to free a passenger from the vehicle. Authorities say they were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

St. John’s Fire District said technical rescue expertise from both departments worked to rescue and remove the passenger.

The St. John’s Fire District said it participates in an automatic aid agreement with multiple Charleston-area fire departments to access the closest unit available at that time…
