COLUMBIA — Work is inching closer to officials’ planned fix of “Malfunction Junction,” one of the state’s most prominent traffic snarls.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation’s Carolina Crossroads project to fix the tangled interchanges of Interstates 20, 26 and 126 near Columbia, often derided as “Malfunction Junction,” broke ground in November 2021.
