KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Dogs in the Zoo is back for its fourth year Saturday.
The Downtown Kalamazoo Collective is hosting their fourth annual free Dogs in the Zoo community event taking over the downtown Kalamazoo Mall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with a lineup of events and vendors.

This year attendees can enjoy a Dachshund Race, Dog and Owner Look Alike Contest, Hot Dog Eating Contest and dog-friendly dance party with DJ Monte.
“The first year, we were basically hoping people would bring their dogs downtown,” Heather Holmer of the Downtown Kalamazoo Collective said. “Now we’re racing dachshunds, having a dog dance party and hiding tiny tennis balls around the Mall. It’s gotten a little ridiculous, which is why we love it.”…
