Tornado totals Lancaster County family cars used to take children to medical appointments

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A Columbia family is trying to replace two vehicles totaled by an EF-1 tornado last month, after the storm left them without the transportation they rely on to get their children to medical appointments in Philadelphia.

The tornado hit Columbia on Aug. 20. The National Weather Service said it touched down at 4:30 p.m. and remained on the ground for three minutes, with estimated peak winds of 100 mph.
