MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man is facing charges after he allegedly barricaded himself and two children in a Murfreesboro apartment on Monday night.

According to the Murfreesboro Police Department, 31-year-old Rodney Parker Jr. was arrested after he surrendered himself peacefully to officers around 8:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, at the Chariot Pointe Apartments on Northfield Boulevard. The standoff lasted around 90 minutes.
Police said Parker is being charged with two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping.
Parker reportedly became upset with his girlfriend around 6:25 p.m. Monday and threatened to harm her. He then locked himself and his girlfriend’s two children inside the apartment, and police responded to the scene, officials said.
