After firework incident maimed girl at Staten Island park, community sounds off on who is to blame

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — In the days after a 10-year-old girl was seriously injured in a fireworks mishap involving a city parks staffer, the community sounded off about what happened and who should be held responsible.

“[I] witnessed it live. What a tragedy,” wrote one man in response to an Advance/SILive.com post on Instagram. “I hope she recovers quickly but the kid is scarred for life.”
