A Piece of Amarillo History Hits the Market

The Beef Burger Barrel is once again up for sale in Amarillo. According to Route 66 News, this iconic restaurant’s beginnings trace back to 1937, but The Beef Burger Barrel opened on Amarillo Blvd. in 1947. In 1952, the iconic restaurant relocated to its current location at 3102 Plains Blvd.

The restaurant temporarily closed in February 2007 and reopened a few months later in June 2007.

What’s Inside the Listing

However, chatter on social media in August said the restaurant closed and is now up for sale. According to the Lyons Realty listing, the 325 sq. ft. property is listed for $100,000. The property is being sold as is.
