ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office said an Asheville man was sentenced for drug trafficking.
On Tuesday, 46-year-old Irvin Franklin Freeman was sentenced to serve between 70 months and 93 months in a North Carolina Department of Adult Correction facility after pleading guilty to trafficking in methamphetamine by possession and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the district attorney.
A judge also ordered that Freeman pay a mandatory statutory fine of $50,000.
The district attorney’s office said Freeman’s convictions stem from an operation executed on Aug. 20, 2025. The U.S. Marshals Service and the Asheville Police Department went to Freeman’s home on Short Michigan Avenue in West Asheville while attempting to find a wanted fugitive…
