AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – A newborn has been safely given up at Aiken Regional Medical Center under a state law that lets parents hand over a baby they can’t care for — without facing charges.
The boy was born Sept. 3, weighing 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measuring 21 inches long. He was safely surrendered at Aiken Regional Medical Center on Saturday, and received a medical evaluation as required under the law.
