NYC Public Schools calendar
The 2026-2027 school year kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 10. The last day of school is scheduled for June 28.
Key dates to mark down in September:
- Thursday, Sept. 10: First day of school
- Monday, Sept. 21: Schools are closed for Yom Kippur
- Wednesday, Sept. 23: Parent-teacher conferences for middle schools and D75 schools
- Thursday, Sept. 24: Parent-teacher conferences for high schools, K-12, and 6-12 schools
- Wednesday, Sept. 30: Parent-teacher conferences for elementary schools and Pre-K centers
