Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission Acquires Property by Sol Legare Boat Landing

[CHARLESTON COUNTY] – The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) recently acquired property adjacent to the Sol Legare boat landing on James Island.

The property is over 4 acres in size, including marsh and wetlands, with 3 acres of highland. CCPRC purchased the property with the intention to expand parking at the boat landing in the future while also protecting open space along the water’s edge.

“This addition is important to CCPRC’s inventory, as it represents one of the last undeveloped properties in close proximity to any of our boat landings. We will have the ability to expand this landing’s parking in the future, potentially doubling its current capacity,” said CCPRC Senior Planner Matthew Moldenhauer…
