CNN viewers mock Mamdani for playing blame game with 9/11 records ‘cover-up’

CNN viewers are divided after New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced the release of new 9/11 records.

On Tuesday, September 8, CNN reported that Mamdani released more than 170,000 pages of previously undisclosed records, which showed city officials misled the public about Ground Zero air quality following the September 11, 2001, attacks on the Twin Towers in lower Manhattan. Despite knowing the conditions in the area were unsafe to breathe, officials repeatedly assured the public they were.

The network shared the news on its X shortly after Mamdani announced the release of the newly exposed documents at a news conference. However, it sparked a major debate among viewers, who were largely unimpressed, but for different reasons.
