MYRTLE BEACH — Myrtle Beach residents continue raising concerns about safety near beach access areas after the city voted to approve an amendment related to the ongoing discussion about golf cart parking.
During Tuesday’s meeting, the city council unanimously approved the final reading of a proposed amendment to a city ordinance related to the parking of golf carts, low-speed vehicles, mopeds and scooters.
The former ordinance stated that “it shall be unlawful to park, leave or store any moped, golf cart, LSV or scooter on any public property except in a designated parking space for vehicles.” Tuesday’s amendment adds that the vehicles also will be permitted in areas designated for golf cart parking near beach access areas…
