Pittsburgh’s Labor Day Parade returned to downtown Monday, bringing thousands of union members, workers, families and supporters together to celebrate the contributions of organized labor.
Organized by the Allegheny-Fayette Central Labor Council, the parade is widely recognized as one of the nation’s oldest and largest Labor Day celebrations. The annual tradition honors the workers and unions that helped build Pittsburgh while highlighting labor’s continued role across western Pennsylvania.
Marchers gathered near PPG Paints Arena before stepping off around 10 a.m. The route carried participants from Centre Avenue and Washington Place through Downtown, continuing along Grant Street and Boulevard of the Allies before concluding near Stanwix Street.
