WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A nationwide crackdown on commercial driver training that intensified after a deadly crash on Florida’s Turnpike has now reached Palm Beach County.
Metropolitan Trucking and Technical Institute, which operates a campus on Pike Road in West Palm Beach, is one of more than 110 schools ordered to immediately stop providing federally recognized entry-level driver training.
The U.S. Department of Transportation said those schools were connected to more than 5,000 drivers who later failed roadside English-language proficiency checks. Ten of the affected training providers operate in Florida…
