ELKTON — A man who fired several gunshots at an Elkton residence occupied by numerous people, including children, received a five-year prison sentence after accepting a plea deal in the attempted murder case, according to Cecil County Circuit Court records.
Investigators reported that the defendant — Daquan Montell Hammond, 31, of Elkton — was trying to gun down a man at approximately 1:30 a.m. on July 12, 2025, as the fleeing victim ran into a residence in the 100 block of Elk Chase Drive.
