(TNS) — Delaware County Council approved a drone detection system to support public safety, but not until after concerns of data collection were raised.
By a 3-2 vote, council approved a $1.4 million grant for Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Council members Richard Womack, Dr. Monica Taylor and Elaine Paul Schaefer approved it. Council members Christine Reuther and Joanne Phillips opposed it.
The grant ends September 2028 and all of the equipment will be in the custody and control of the Delaware County Emergency Services Department and would be managed with an Axon administrator…
