LUBBOCK, Texas — Adrian Casias, 18, pleaded guilty Thursday, September 3, to deadly conduct with a firearm and was sentenced to 5 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice with 338 days of jail credit for his involvement in the September 2025 shooting that killed 20-year-old Deon Lilly and injured two others.

An affidavit previously obtained by EverythingLubbock.com stated that Casias was present at the party and witnessed a physical altercation taking place in the front yard involving gunshots. Casias proceeded to shoot multiple rounds in the direction of the gunshots in retaliation.
Suspect injured by self-inflicted gunshot after Lubbock pursuit
Court records indicated that Casias did not aim at anyone specifically, but fired his weapon over the heads of people gathered in the front yard to intimidate them. When authorities investigated the scene, shell casings were found that were connected to the weapon Casias used at the scene.
