A pair of brothers from Terrytown pleaded guilty to their roles in the death of a young father who was slain while walking home, according to authorities.
Markeith Glapion, 29, and Terrell Glapion, 30, pleaded guilty Sept. 2 to manslaughter in the death of 20-year-old Jakari Edwards. Judge June Berry Darensburg of the 24th Judicial District Court sentenced both to 25 years in prison, Jefferson Parish court records said.
Edwards was walking home in the 2800 block of Mt. Kennedy Drive in Marrero on the evening of Dec. 2, 2023, when the Glapion brothers and several other men approached him, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators said.
Terrell Glapion grabbed Edwards while Markeith Glapion brandished a rifle. Terrell Glapion was also armed with a handgun, and both brothers shot Edwards several times, the Sheriff’s Office said…
