WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Former KSN Sports director Jim Kobbe died Tuesday after a battle with cancer, his niece told KSN News. He was 65 years old.
Kobbe joined the station in 2005 to re-establish the KSN sports department, and lead the sports team in coverage of local sports across the state. In 2011, he left KSN for a job at Spirit AeroSystems. He retired in 2024. He stayed active in the sports community and served as an advisor for the Kansas Baseball Hall of Fame.
Before his time at KSN, Kobbe also worked as a sports anchor and reporter for KWCH-TV, and also worked for several radio stations. He was a University of Kansas graduate…
