A significant water main break near Main Street and Priscilla Road caused the Lynnfield Center Water District to lose nearly 750,000 gallons of water, prompting officials to ask residents to temporarily limit their consumption.
The water main break, which occurred in the evening of Sept. 5 and into Sept. 6, resulted in water service being shut off early Sunday along Main Street from Strout Road to Phillips Road, as well as Mitchell Road, Priscilla Road, Richards Road, Phillips Road, Carol Ann Road, Mirabeau Lane, Ivanhoe Drive, and Patrice Lane. The district anticipated restoring service by 7 a.m.
