Phil Donahue historical marker dedication to bring notables to Moraine

Television journalist Phil Donahue, who interviewed authors and actors, politicians and polemics, over a decades-spanning career, is set to be honored Monday right where it began: 4595 S. Dixie Dr. in Moraine.

On Monday, Sept. 14, a historical marker commemorating Donahue’s contribution to television will be dedicated just outside the WDTN studio.

Known at the time as WLWD, the studio provided the first home for “The Phil Donahue Show.” From there, Donahue tackled tough topics in Dayton and across the nation from 1967 until relocating to Chicago in 1974…
