LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Students in the Lansing School District will now be able to receive scholarships to Saginaw Valley State University through the Lansing Promise program.
Lansing Promise and SVSU hosted an event Tuesday to sign a memorandum of understanding, giving Lansing students another four-year option through the scholarship program.

That needs to be open to students who are willing to work hard and desire that for themselves, their families and their community,” said Ken Fettig, vice president for enrollment management for SVSU.
The scholarships can also be used at Lansing Community College, Michigan State University, The University of Olivet and Davenport University, according to the program’s website; students can also receive funds to get a cosmetology, barbering or esthiology license at the Douglas J Institute or for several apprenticeship programs…
