They’d come to throw a homecoming.
On Saturday, Sept. 5, the network transformed Somerville Issa Rae’s love letter to View Park–Windsor Hills into a living, breathing tribute to the era that made West Coast rap the center of the universe. Billed as “The Drop: Neighborhood Sessions,” the daylong takeover doubled as the unofficial launch of FX’s newest drama, and it did what few premieres dare: it invited the whole block.
