HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A third of people living in the United States today were not alive during the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
Felix Cruz, a former 9/11 first responder, wants students to understand the severity of the day and the attacks while making sure people never forget.
Cruz reflects on the day
“It takes me two hours in the morning to put this uniform on, but I do it for you and for those that made the ultimate sacrifice. They never kissed their loved ones, never said goodbye. I do it for them as well,” Cruz said.
Cruz said he feared for his life that day. He said he is glad he has the ability to tell his story to younger generations…
