World-record Cuban sandwich attempt to benefit House of Hope, local families in need

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla (CBS12) — A Martin County restaurant, Old Havanna Cafe is teaming up with House of Hope this weekend for a unique fundraiser aimed at helping people facing food insecurity and homelessness.

Community members will gather at L. Cpl. Justin Wilson Memorial Park, Palm City on Saturday, Sept. 12, to try to build a world-record-sized Cuban sandwich.

The mission is to build a 400-foot Cuban sandwich, with help from community members in an attempt to set a new record! The massive sandwich will ultimately help feed people in need throughout the community.
