Colonial Terminals opens new multimodal breakbulk facility on the Savannah River

Colonial Terminals has announced the opening of Foundation 3, a new breakbulk facility on the Savannah River that expands the company’s terminal network and its capacity to handle cargo moving through the Southeast and other U.S. markets.

The approximately 25-acre terminal is designed to provide integrated marine, rail, trucking and storage services while adding breakbulk capacity in the Savannah logistics market. The facility offers direct vessel access, Class I rail service through Norfolk Southern, and connectivity to Interstate 16 and Interstate 95.

The development comes as the Port of Savannah continues to grow as a major container gateway, while demand for infrastructure serving bulk, breakbulk and industrial cargo remains an important part of the region’s broader logistics network.
