NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Both directions of U.S. 421 are shut down after an excavator struck a Piedmont Natural Gas line near the New Hanover County landfill.
The leak was reported around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, prompting the closure of all lanes.
