‘We’re not tone deaf’ | Delmarva Power defends requested rate hikes

Delmarva Power is using the results of some of this year’s major storms as a major justification for its recent requests for power rate increases.

Delmarva initially filed for a $68 million increase to cover infrastructure costs, but boosted that request to $75 million just days after the Delaware Public Service Commission heard dozens of complaints.

Delmarva Power’s Region President Marcus Beal said the rate requests are the result of 3 years worth of investments that showcased themselves during January and February’s snowstorms and the slew of thunderstorms last week…
